The cold has finally arrived in Spain and there is nothing recomforting than cracking some hot chestnuts. Making your own is super easy and today I am revisiting my previous article on how to roast chestnuts and sharing with you some tips on how to get to the next level.
How to Better Roast Chestnuts
Print RecipeIngredients
- 500 g edible chestnuts
- a cup of water
Instructions
Crest your chestnuts one by one (see the direction of the cut in the images above)
Leave the chestnuts soak for one hour
Set your oven on +200C (up & down)
Discard the water and place the chestnuts in a tray, placing in the middle a heat resistent cup with water to keep the moist present in the oven during the baking
Place the tray into the heated oven and let the chestnuts roast for 40 minutes
Move the roasted chestnuts in a clean kitchen towel and cover for 15 more minutes (that will ensure a super easy peel)
Enjoy!
